Has anyone had chronic fatigue from a very young age? I began suffering from it when I was around 10 years old and I have never met anyone else alike.

Looking back, the signs were there very early. I had glandular fever at five years of age which was rare. I used to have sore legs after exercise and becoming cold. I had insomnia young. I also had chronic tonsillitis and would become upset standing in lines, all before 13.

My symptoms started at 13 and got progressively worse over the years. I had huge amounts of struggle getting the doctors to take me seriously as I was told the pain was just things like growing pains and pulled muscles. I was finally diagnosed during covid but am still pretty much left alone as I am "too young to medicate". It's gotten to the point that I'm stuck in bed constantly from the pain and I am too tired to go up and down the stairs.

I did but wasn't diagnosed till I was 26. I now get B12 injections every 8 weeks, but they don't always help.

I struggled with it first when I was around 13/14 after I had Glandular fever (Mono for US friends across the pond), for the first time. I had it 3 times and third wiped me out so at best, my ' battery' was 50% of what it used to be. It's terrible to loose years that should be so energetic and care free. On the plus side it sure makes you stop and smell the roses šŸŒ¹ šŸ˜ āœØļø šŸŽ¶ and appreciate the little things others with energy to spare miss šŸ˜Š

A friend of mine has struggled with CFS since she was 7 or so, and I have struggled with it since I was at least as young as 12

Yep, I remember being in primary school and having to be carried down to the living room with the tv on extra loud in an attempt to try and wake me up every morning. Maybe 7/8 years old. It seems to go through periods of being worse/ better for me

I first noticed mine in high school. Idk if that's young. Everyone said it was just being a teenager, but I knew it was something different. I remember reading a magazine article about CFS and I CRIED because first the first time I was reading about all my symptoms and I didn't feel crazy or alone. I KNEW it wasn't just normal teenage tiredness!
