Is there anyone that was diagnosed with TS after 18? My tics were so mild as a kid that I didn’t think anything of it, but it had gotten worse. I feel like people don’t believe me because of when I got diagnosed.

I was diagnosed at the age of 20! I had been ticking since about the age of 8 but because my tic sounded and looked like hiccups nobody believed me! You are the only person to know your body in thag level. When I tell people I have Tourette’s I’m often met with an “oh my gosh you don’t look like you have Tourette’s” couldn’t tell you what that means… all to say you live in your body day todsay and you know what you experience!

I was diagnosed at 20 years old after I have an extreme allergic reaction to some medications that ended up making me have tourettes I didn't notice that I'd had tics before because they were small and subtle I just thought I was wired weird lol. But they think mine started with pandas from strep throat and being extremely heavily medicated for adhd as a child

I got diagnosed at I think 17. But it was genetic from my dad and I realized I had had tics for years before they got severe I just never noticed them cause they were so small. It was definitely hard seeing people and explaining it because it was so severe and so obvious super fast. I thought everyone was gonna think I was faking but most people were very nice and supportive.

Yes, I was officially diagnosed last year at age 31. My tics got worse as I aged. May have been the sustained stress from the pandemic, but also I was finally in a living situation where I felt safe so I didn’t feel the need to suppress as much.

Yes, I just diagnosed recently after noticing them more in COVID because like being on camera. I have had tics for a long time and I’m now 28. The only reason for a diagnosis is if you’re worried about other things like could it be seizures or if you want medication

"well we wouldnt want to label you" ugh its frustrating but I understand where ur coming from
