I really need to feel less alone about my conditions. About me: I am currently 21 almost 22 years old Female I have history of severe mental health and trauma since I was a child. In 2019 my active trauma ended. In 2021, I started getting debilitating back pain, joint pain, and leg pain. I went through so much testing and procedures. In 2022 and 2023, I was diagnosed with seronegative rheumatoid disease, sacroiliitis, fibromyalgia, Intervertebral Disc Degeneration, a bulging disc with annular tears, a slight curve in my spine, Sensory Peripheral Neuropathy, lumbar Radiculopathy, genu valgum deformity, Claudication and sciatica in my legs, and HS. Not to mention that while all of this is going on, I start having delusional psychosis and severe major depression. Ive tried physical therapy, many different medications, SI joint injections, Epidural steroid Injections, nerve blocks, and I will soon start Butrans patches for pain and Humia for my RA. I have to sleep with a pregnancy pillow in order to have adequate support to sleep through the night, otherwise Im woken up by pain. I haven't been able to work for over a year now, Im working on getting disability. I cant stand or do chores much or walk more than a quarter mile or sit for more than a half hour or lay for an hour in one position. I have a really hard time taking care of any kind of hygiene and cleaning up after I go to the bathroom. I feel so alone and I haven't met anyone with near as many of the conditions I have and doctors dont look at it like a whole, they just look at parts they specialize in. Im still a very young adult and the rest of my life is shortened and taken away from me because of these. I am grateful for my husband though, he is a trooper

I'm so sorry to hear about all the pain you've been and are going through. I'd like to mention that all the abuse you lived through is quite possibly the cause of a good portion of your physical problems. There's a book called The Body Keeps the Score, by Bessel Van der Kolk, MD, and he has done mountains of research over the decades that show that trauma lodges in the body. If you aren't already, I HIGHLY recommend you seek counseling, particularly from a trauma-informed therapist. Healing the heart/mind will also bring a measure of healing to the body. (I know this from my own, personal experience.)

I am so sorry for all your going through. I am 54 years old and l have several of the conditions you have. I have two of my doctors my primary care and pain management doctor that are refusing me to go back to work and since January of 2020 l have been fighting with disability because they feel l can work even though at one of my hearings they had their own doctor to testify against me about my illnesses and their medical witness said l should not be working and they still denied me. I have been denied 3 times even with appeals. I hope you situation goes smoother than mine did. Good Luck and l will be praying for you to be pain free and all the best to you

So, my list of conditions is much shorter, but I am turning 29 in March and can definitely relate to how lonely it can feel to be chronically ill in your twenties. I just want to say, that I am proud of you for getting this far and you deserve to find treatment that helps you live the best life possible. I've learned that I have to take what each of my specialists have to say and add it to my little slice of the venn diagram. I don't expect a rheumatologist to immediately know how my ADHD meds might interact with fibro, but I can take the initiative to read about how scientists think they actually work and compare it to my other conditions. For example - all of my diagnoses seem to be related to dopamine not being regulated properly. All in all, you're not alone. We just aren't the type of people who you're going to run into much, since home is such a safer space.

I am so sorry you are going through all of this! I am also 21 and it has been very hard to find people who truly understand what it's like being so young and in pain all the time. I hadn't thought of using a pregnancy pillow, but my go to is a bath right before bedtime to help relax muscles and aches so i can sleep better. All the luck in the world to you! ❤️
