Hi! I would love to connect with others that get what it’s like to live with a chronic condition. Let’s share tips and help one another.

You’re not alone. And it’s not easy, it’s also not necessarily fair. But I’d like to think that fmf has forced me to embrace a healthier lifestyle than most.

You can also try “rescue remedy” for stress.

I took the everlywell food sensitivity test and that’s how I found out that I am reactive to dairy. None of the regular lab works done by doctors showed any dairy reactivity.

So homeopathic remedies and changing my diet were biggest game changers for me, especially for fmf attacks

Anti-inflammatory foods or reducing foods that cause inflammation in the body helps. Also turmeric. I took homeopathic version of colchicine for several years and now I don’t take any and I have eliminated dairy and I have been able to keep the flare ups to minimal.

Definitely. I transitioned to working from home 7 years ago and that has helped me manage much better. I have also experimented a lot with natural herbs and eliminating certain foods.

I hear you and know how frustrating it is. When I get frustrated with others I try to remind myself that it’s not personal. They just don’t get it. And I am glad they don’t have to deal with health issues so they are obvious to my suffering. I think chronic/ genetic conditions are tonight because unless you experience it yourself, it’s truly hard to imagine the challenges it causes. And yes, exposure to stress is definitely a trigger too. In the last few years I am starting to become more aware of symptoms of depression and anxiety and I have a feeling it’s tied to fmf. Is that something you have experienced as well?

I have found that dairy trigger my fevers and stomach inflammation, so food definitely plays a factor

Yes I definitely know the struggle. It took 17 years for me to get diagnosed. And even after that, still there isn’t much research and medical support.

      Yes.
