So I have been unknowingly been dealing with dermatillomania for ten years now. I’ve tried to do research and am not finding anything that is super relevant to me. I mostly just pick around my hairline. I’m looking for tips on how to lessen it. Most advice I have found is focusing on how it looks, but since I pick on my hairline, nobody can even see the scabbing and scarring. Also thinking of shaving my head, if that would help. Any advice?

I agree woth doing your nails. But if you tweezer it too, I'd try face cream. I keep my skin scrubbed and well hydrated. I also pick around my nice nails, do I use cuticle oil and handcream. This results in nothing in my pores to pick out and no dry skin to pull on.

Yes I agree when I have nails I can't pick I just need to hod my tweezers (for my arms) but even scratching not just picking at my scalp is impossible for me when I have nails the dip powder nails last a realllllly long time so I get those, I never use to get my nails done so I couldn't do anything the first time I got them done it was a struggle just to get my keys out open my door and start my car lol but I just got them shorter next time and even when sort it works great!

If you can,I found that I pick less when my nails are pretty. I gave myself a set of gel nails and so far I find myself picking and scratching less. My typing has suffered thougj
@Calibird Yes!! I have done that too. Acrylics for 3 months really stopped me from picking all together. It’s just a little pricy to keep up with.
@Ravioli_ it is, that's why I bought a polygel kit to use at home
