For me I try to use something I might be attached too or reminds me of something and use that as a way to distract myself when I’m anxious
So this is gonna be a little story>>
When I was 7 I had Severe anxiety at the most random times I would shake and cry and it was just really bad. I started using sesame oil every time I had a anxiety attack and it’s eventually would calm me down. I think mostly the reason it helped me was because I thought of it as something that could help me, so when I would have a anxiety attack I knew I had something to help get me away from it. Don’t know if this makes any sense but 👍
