Hey, new to Alike. I've had MDD for a long time, but never actually diagnosed until like four years ago or so. I'm not fully sure how to manage it proper, I can get by in a day - but when I'm alone things get... rough. Manly a lot of big emotions and thoughts that I'm unsure what to do with. Like I feel guilty for living? even after a productive day, I feel like I'm never enough. Also having issues with finding a point in taking care of myself. Like why should I bother with xyz if I don't feel like bothering at all. how do you deal with it? Sorry for the long post, figured talking to those that actually get "it" might be helpful. Thanks.

hey! i'm in the thick of it with similar things, so i can't give advice from the POV of being on the other side of MDD, but if you ever need to talk with someone feel free to DM. depression is hard. really really hard. at the very least it shouldn't be something people should struggle through alone. alike isn't perfect, but i've met some good people here to relate to and bounce off ideas with. hopefully you find people like that too. cheering for you :)

I got myself into some intense DBT classes and that came along with a DBT therapist. Helped me to recognize and wade through the deep emotions and taught me how to take care of myself a little better. I still struggle a lot but it feels good to have a plan on how to get through the anger or sadness.
Also, DMs are always open for those who need help or just to talk. I'll do my best to be active. š
