So I guess I'm like... unofficially diagnosed with ADHD or something? I have symptoms and a therapist thinks so but they can't diagnose me, I think is what's happening. I knew it was a possibility - I tried to look into it a few times - but I could never fixate on it the way I could with autism. I don't have the same knowledge. I don't really know what to do with this information. I usually project onto something somehow but how can I do that when I don't even know what's going on with me to project onto? Anyone have advice?

hello! i was just recently diagnosed with ADHD at the end of last year. if your therapist thinks you may have it, but can’t diagnose you, maybe you should ask them to refer you to a psychiatrist? a psychiatrist will be able to do ADHD or ASD testing and would be able to prescribe you medication to ease the symptoms. i think it would be a good idea to ask you therapist about a referral to a psychiatrist. you may DM me if you want to talk or have other questions :)

@stxrberrym00n Yeah, I think that's the current plan because that's what happened for the autism assessment - I just dunno what to do with this, like, personally, I guess? Normally I'd make lists of how I can use this to help me but I don't know what it means really so I can't make a list

@Starcycle i found that doing extensive research on the disorder itself, and talking to other people about it helped me. it may be helpful to you to make a list of symptoms you think may be related to your ADHD so you can see them on paper and acknowledge them. then after you write them down, research ways to deal/cope with these symptoms or feelings. :)
