I've had this one migraine for almost a week now. My normal meds aren't killing it like usual. It'll ease up (with the meds), I'll dose off, and wake up with it pounding again. I'm almost at my wits end, but all i can do is ride it out and wait for it to pass.

I had severe migraines for almost a year and my doctor put me on a new drug called Qulipta about 4 months ago and I haven't had once since. The most I get is a light headache from work which isn't all that bad considering what it was before. So far I haven't had any real side effects other than it makes you a little sleepy for the first month. Although you will need either medicaid or any other insurance that will cover it because one months supply is about $1100. The pharmacy will not order it unless a majority is covered since it is expensive. It's also the only migraine prevention medication at the moment. I would talk with your doctor about trying this. Also do NOT consume anything with Grapefruit it messes with the medication in a negative way.

Each person reacts differently, for me they get worse for a couple days after I get the injections then they lessen, I was diagnosed with chronic migraines when I was 7 and that was almost 26 years ago, they started as 3-5 a month until I had over 15 a month

@StormyGirl89 I think i was around 7 or 8 when they first started, and they progressed in frequency and severity ever since. This one is just frustrating because it'll ease up, but I can still feel it throbbing, and then it comes thundering back full force without warning.

I've had to get infusions to get rid of migraines when they last for more than a week. I had one last for over 100 days and it took getting on emgality for it to go away

I've been there myself so I know how it feels. My doctor put me on Topamax for a few years now I'm on Ubrelvy, Nurtec when I get a migraine and Botox injections every 3 months.

@StormyGirl89 I tried the botox injections, but they just made the migraines worse. I'm on fioricet, flexeril, and Phenergan when migraines hit, and topamax to help prevent them.
