@oliverlin14 I didn’t know that was why pressure drops hurt! I knew that the pressure dropping affected me, but I didn’t know about it making the joints thicker

      Migraines and sciatica pain.

@RMSjohns me too. Migraibes since the first flare. Chemo made them go away. Then oncologist tried Lupron and returned every single day for years. Then a bit lighter. Then back with vengeance with next cancer.

      I call it fibro fog!

I had CFS first. It kind of morphed into fibro. So to me they really are the same. Too close to isolate one from the other. And 30 years later. now that i have POTS, there's even less difference between the autoimmune stuff. For me, both times, it was just the way my body responds to getting breast cancer. The thing that puzzles me is that calcium serum levels are still high even through the cancer was completely removed.

I would say that I didn't know that Fibro has so many co-morbidities such as auto immune diseases, hormonal imbalances, vitamin deficiencies, autonomic nervous system dysfunction, IBS, alloydynia, costochondritis, etc that are very common.

Definitely the slurring of speech and the brain fog and not being able to think of something on the spot

        528d

@Olawola oh yeah and how people look at you when it happens like your stupid or something . And when I’m even just at home and the brain fog happen.. mines really bad, and your trying to think of the word for something really simple like pencil and I get so frustrated with myself

        • Olawola

          528d

@Karrieanne73 literally and I constantly have to make sure I’m saying certain words in the right sentences and not forgetting their meaning it’s alot

I didn't realize nausea was sometimes a symptom until i saw it on the screening test that my pain management doc had me fill out!

Sensitivity to medications! I have always had such extreme reactions to medications (even otc cold meds make me feel out of my mind) and I've developed many allergies to medications I've taken just fine when I was younger. I was shocked to find out this was something a lot of people with fibro experience.

      • Doglover25006

        523d

@ZeldyWitch I get this too. So many new medication allergies in the last 2-3 years, but I also get every side effect medications can cause.

      • CoffeeAndDogs

        528d

@ZeldyWitch Do you get rashes and allergic reactions as well or just the sensitivity?

        • ZeldyWitch

          528d

@CoffeeAndDogs Both! Sometimes its just dizziness or feeling "high" and other times I get full body itchiness, swelling and puffiness in my face, and my troat and face sometimes get numb. Its happened with medications I was able to take when I was younger but suddenly in the last few years have become alergic to. Even regular tylenol makes me puffy and itchy now.

allodynia – when you feel pain from something that should not be painful at all, such as a very light touch

      • kingseijuro

        527d

@scurrly2 would this be accurate to describe pain when washing my hands with cold water?

        • scurrly2

          524d

@kingseijuro I would believe so. I know I have that as well

      • Karrieanne73

        528d

@scurrly2 allodonyia is the worst. I have that basically all the time. If you barely rub your finger across my skin it hurts like a bruise then it lasts forever. And don’t get me started on clothes lol. I hate it !

        • scurrly2

          524d

@Karrieanne73 yes, my ex covert narc used to use this to his advantage 🤬

Oh does the rainy weather make your body achy? Or more pain?

      10

      • oliverlin14

        527d

@Lunako rainy days usually make the barometric pressure drop which makes the fluid in your joints thicker and since our joints already suck it just amplifies it even worse 😭

@oliverlin14 thanks for that info 👍 speaking of rainy weather 😞 rain 🌧 here in the northeast. But atleast it’s been mild weather for November ☺️

      • ZeldyWitch

        529d

@Lunako yes I always have more joint pain on rainy days...sometimes my skin gets sensitive too and it hurts to feel the sprinkles of rain, its like little needle pricks

        • Lunako

          529d

          @ZeldyWitch ouch 😓

New symptoms always pop up. But for me chest pain. Feels like a tugging sensation. Scared me at first but looked it up and saw chest pain as a FM symptom. It’s so scary and crazy to think every single part of your body is affected by this disease and it’s not taking more seriously. Everyday is a surprise! Which body part or parts is gonna hurt today?! 🎁 ?

      • CoffeeAndDogs

        528d

@Lunako that sounds like costochondritis. I thought it might be helpful to have a name/cause for the phenomenon.

          @CoffeeAndDogs 🤗thank you! I’m gonna look into that! 🤗

I didn't know that the Dizziness I've been experiencing was related until I did some research about it. Along with the struggle to learn
