Recently my jaw has been dislocating quite frequently (at LEAST every other day) and locking up. It has been out for up to 45 minutes and the only thing that gets it back is a ton of force to the point where there is serious risk of fracturing my jaw. This can occur even when I am not using it, like when I move my head or lay my head on a pillow. Does anyone else have this problem and an easier way to put it back or way to avoid it? Also if anyone has an idea of what kind of doctor I need to see for this that would be much appreciated. My dentist wouldn't refer me to an oral surgeon, my orthopedist says he isn't qualified to help and my PCP has no idea where to send me.

My chiropractor used Piezo on my jaw to break up scar tissue, and suggested I wear a night guard to prevent grinding of my teeth and this no longer happens to me. Best of luck!
