Well, honestly, i would leave. If I’m too much, go find less. I NEED someone who will understand and care for me on my good AND bad days. If you don’t love ALL of me you don’t love me. Thankfully, I got VERY lucky with my wife, who has not stopped loving and caring for me through my very worst moments. If you wanna chat bipolar + relationships, i have wayyyyy more thoughts, advice, and stories if you wanna message me 💜

I would remove myself from them because if they can't handle you at your worst they are not a person you wanna keep in your life

Become more stable with your moods and work on yourself in therapy, it kind of goes both ways. It’s also not fair for other the other person when your hot and cold all the time.

You should have friends that are willing to support you, but your friends are not your therapist or mental health professionals. So they should not be pulling as much weight as a therapist. I think you could be like, hey can we hang out and watch a movie? I’m feeling really bad today and don’t want to be alone. But don’t tell them how you are trying to do enact a particular suicide plan (for instance). An appropriate resource to talk about that is a crisis line not a friend. You should be able to lean in your friends sometimes, but not to the same degree you would on a professional. Please continue to try to be well. I hope that you are seeing a therapist/taking meds. It helps a lot.

I try to remind myself I can not alone with my condition and if an individual walks away because of who I am and my condition they were never loyal in the relationship
