I think I may have been misdiagnosed with a cognitive disability. I believe I have autism actually. I just had a full on meltdown over something so small in my car. I've never not had meltdowns. I've had them from as early as I can remember until now at 24 years old. I also have a hard time understanding simple things like multiple step instructions and my ex roommate and ex fiancée both used to tell me I don't know how to sweep or mop properly. I also get overstimulated very easily. My mom said I've always thrived off of routine and this is the first time I'm actually thriving off of no routine. I think I need to go see my neuropsych again. I know it's so hard to be diagnosed as an adult though.

Fingers crossed you get the diagnosis! It's hard to be diagnosed, it seems like doctors don't really care but keep going back until they send you to get assessed. You've got this! :) I got diagnosed at 21, it was like a weight had been lifted

I got diagnosed when I was 25. Best advice is to keep advocating for yourself. I went a few months asking my psychiatrist for a referral. Also, not every doctor will diagnose an adult. It stinks but true. Do some of the coping mechanisms recommended work for you?

@NonbinarySlytherin sometimes coping skills will work for me but I have to catch myself because if I'm too far into the meltdown there's no coming down until I come down if that makes sense.

I know a lot of adults that are getting diagnosed, you've got this.
