Understanding the Difference Between PTSD and C-PTSD

One of the main differences between PTSD and C-PTSD is the duration of the trauma. Standard PTSD is usually a short definitive trauma in a person's life. With C-PTSD, the trauma is over a long period of time (can be months to years). C-PTSD is also typically linked to those who have been through childhood abuse. The C also stands for Complex, since those with C-PTSD tend to have multiple layers with their trauma.
