About a year ago my long term psychiatrist office closed. I have been going to a new one but they do not operate the same as the last. Every appointment I've had has been over the phone, which I don't mind so much I actually kind of prefer it. The issue comes in because I've only spoken to my nurse practitioner on the phone and it feels as if he doesn't trust me. I've considered it paranoia but I've basically ruled that out. At one point early on I asked if we could increase my Adderall and ever since he has treated me as if I am faking my multiple mental health conditions. He is suspicious that I often fail to make appointments on time for my meds to not run out, as if he does not work with the mentally ill. In our latest call he questioned me on if I receive medications from multiple providers, this is because after asking when I ran out of a certain medication I told him I had some left over from before. I am afraid to speak to him about adjusting or changing my medications because he treats me as if I am drug seeking and faking ADHD, ptsd, ocd, depression solely to obtain off brand Adderall.

@haniel Boom! Hit the nail right on the head! To further elaborate, if you are not comfortable with your NP, they can't help you because you may be scared to tell him everything he needs to know. I would seek out a new provider. Don't worry. This happens all the time, and your NP will probably be fine with that idea.

I've been there. get someone new. he's not seeing you as a person. but when i was there, i was on a dangerously high dose-- 60mg fast acting adderall per day, which was 15mg 4x per day. but the way he went about things was awful and our final appt was a screaming match where he called me drug seeking after months of me trying to tolerate a very sharp change in my Adderall dosage. i then had a period without psychiatry. find a new one now so there's no gap!! ❤️
Time for a new prescriber. Not okay
