@koalaechidna42 congrats on losing that 120+ pounds of deadweight. I bet you feel so much lighter without the weight of your ex and his words surrounding you. I like your strategy of finding 3 good things about yourself per day. I tried it on the spot and im struggling with it but at least you got me thinking about self love and taking the time to compliment myself and build up my confidence. Baby steps everyone! We got this!

One thing that helps me is this: if you wouldn't say it to your best friend, don't say it to yourself. Everyone deserves love, and everyone deserves self-love.

I have struggled with the same thing most of my life and surprisingly what made it better was when my ex told me he wanted me to lose weight because it made it hard for him to love me with my recent weight gain (due to the antidepressant I had started taking). Thats what made me realize I deserve so much more and that my mental health and how I feel about myself matters so much more than what he or anyone else thinks. Now I make myself find 3 things I like about myself every morning (at least one for looks and one accomplishment and the 3rd can be anything). Today my 3 things were I handled some family drama very well yesterday, my hair looks really nice today, and I picked out shorts this morning that make my butt look good. It literally helps my whole day doing this. I hope you can realize that you are so much more than your intrusive thoughts and so much more than what anyone else thinks. ❤️

@koalaechidna42 I'm happy that your ex's feedback worked for you, but I also hope that's the reason he's your ex...

15.5 cups of water for men 11.5 cups of water for women and 5-8 cups of water for children from 5 years older and different amounts depending on age can help you feel great emotionally physically and mentally I've been drinking the suggested amounts of water and I feel great I feel like I'm not sick or it is going away and things are getting better it can also flush out your system and help you loose weight better skin I lost weight and my body is toned up I see differences the next morning when I've had my 15.5 cups of water

@tahtah please be careful with the amount of water you're drinking my grandmother used to drink nothing but water and she got put in the hospital because her nutrients got flushed out

I totally relate, you are not alone. What helped me the most with those types of intrusive thoughts was doing CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) with a psychologist. If you are able to find a therapist who specializes in this, it can be so helpful for changing how you relate to your thoughts and yourself.

@Amyb I’ll definitely have to look into that!! and getting into therapy again would probably help massively. Thank you ❤️

I've always had weight problems and the dysphoria that comes with it. Recently I've been extra conscious of it too and it also consumes my thoughts for a majority of the day. It makes my struggle to be clean from self harm so much harder.

I care far too much about what others think too unfortunately. I always think my husband hates my body because "i could never love it so why should he" are my typical anxieties. But I will say this my hubby is 125 slim and im closer to 200lbs and have beat anorexia 3 times now... I used to self harm and I think I look plain. But he loves me with all the extra lbs and scars, etc there is someone out there who will think you are perfect the way you are too. Even if you think you are unloveable thats not for you to decide. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, never forget that!

@Fire101 you’re so strong for beating it that many times! that’s incredible. i’m definitely loved but sometimes that doesn’t feel like enough. it has to come from within myself and that’s the hard part! we got this tho! one day at a time

I deal with dysphoria a lot and it sucks. I just want you to know that you are beautiful just the way you are. You are perfect and no one should tell you otherwise. If they do then they need some glasses because you are amazing.
