Need advice on breast reconstruction decision

I'm turning 50 in September and reconstruction will definitely help me move forward in this process. I told my husband before I even knew how much tissue would be gone I'd have reconstruction. This is my body and I'm the one that ultimately has to deal with it. Have you had your consultation for reconstruction? My doctor put my mind at ease and explained it in such detail, I'm so confident I will be with what ever he can do for me! You're only 51 and have many years to live and be happy! Just do what's best for you! Also every lady in my support group thats had reconstruction that I've talked to is happy they did it, because they don't have to fight with the prosthesis and the reminder of it constantly!

They tried a saline implant but my body rejected it and made me deathly ill.1998

What type of reconstruction are you considering? I had DEIP flap. I don't regret it even though I had some complications. It's good knowing it's all me, no implants, just rearranged. 😀 there are a lot of pros and cons to consider
