Heavy Menstrual Flow and Concerns of Miscarriage

My flow is the heaviest it’s been within my 12 years of having it ( bleeding through super plus tampons not even every 2 hours). My cycle was almost a month late and I’m worried if this is just my period getting worse or a miscarriage. I’ve always had very heavy flows but nothing has been this severe or painful. Any suggestions on what I should do?
