How do I manage splitting? It really bothers me but I can’t figure out how to control it.

Something that’s worked for me is not saying anything to the person/people I’m splitting from. Just keeping my thoughts and feelings to myself or venting to someone else about it. Notice that you’re splitting, and don’t allow yourself to continue a conversation any further with this person. I kind of think of it like a silent treatment, but after a little while the emotion wears off so you can come back to the conversation with a level head and explain why you were being silent. Giving a “silent treatment” is better than saying or doing things you’ll regret.
