Starting B12 injections next week. My first appointment is with a nurse and for her to teach me how to do it myself at home. I’m fine with GETTING needles/shots/IVs, but I’ve never done it to myself and I feel like I’m not going to be able to do it. I’m going to try, but I am nervous. Any tips would be much appreciated, and if anyone has found an automatic injection pen for b12, please let me know lol I’m not even sure if that is an option but I would much rather have that. Thanks!!

I wanted to do that, but my doctors office is so short staffed she said I could be sitting there for an hour or more just waiting to get the shot, so she advised me to try to learn or have someone else learn how to do it for me. I’ll do it myself for the first time next week so we’ll see if I can do it🤞🏼

I struggle to do it myself. My anxiety takes hold and my hand shakes. I go into my doctors office every week and a nurse does it for me.

I used to do my thigh as well… but I also do my abdomen. If that’s easier. 🤷‍♀️

I was nervous when I started my injections, but now I think nothing of it! The hardest part is drawing the dose. I do my injections in my thigh, and rotate the leg I inject each week. I’ve just found that this is more stable than trying to reach my arm. And make sure you squeeze the muscle when you inject, so you don’t feel the pinch. You got this ✨

I do mine every Wednesday! Just don’t watch the needle go in and you’ll do fine. 😊
