Should I have a breast biopsy if calcifications were found in the non affected breast?

Well……From what I know, calcifications in unaffected breast might not necessarily need an intervention as it might actually mean nothing but I will advice that you get it checked to ascertain whether you’ll need a medical intervention. You will have be fine.

Hi there, I feel you! making this decision is difficult. It could be unsettling to find calcifications in an unaffected breast. However, the good news is that it is pretty common to find calcium deposits in your breast, anf they are often benign. They don't really matter most of the time. However, occasionally, they might be an indication of something more significant developing.I’ll recommend that you go for a proper scan from your doctor, this will help get your mind settled

Yes have one my surgeon told me the way my calification was clustered it was 90 percent chance it wasn't cancer wait six months have another mammogram. But if you are really going to worry about it get a biopsy. We were both glad I got a biopsy it was breast cancer no family history no lump feeling great

It depends on the formation of them. The first time, my calcifications we're arranged in clusters that were suspicious looking. They were malignant in the left breast and benign in the right breast. I have calcifications again, but they're clustered in a benign formation so no biopsy was suggested. When I had breast reconstruction/reduction surgery, they biopsied the area anyways, and it confirmed that it was benign. The radiologist can usually tell by how they're shaped and clustered. Good Luck!

It depends on your age and your family history. As for me having breast cancer in my family I always have to make sure it just in case. Early detection mean early prevention and I will save you more time and headache.
