How do I tell if I’m biromantic? Everything on the internet is kinda contradicting and confusing could someone try to explain how I can tell in the simplest way?

People definitions may differ slightly so thats what may cause confusion. In the end its up to you if you think the label is worth using and describes you well. Not all of us fit neatly into boxes or black and white categories, but using labels can be helpful in the instances where you feel like its a good enough descriptor for who you are without having to explain every time. To me romantic attraction is the strong desire to be in a romantic relationship with a person. What that means may differ from person to person, but romance usually includes things like going on dates, having a close emotional connection, holding hands, physical closeness, maybe kissing too. Some of the details may be slightly different for you, its not a checklist, but those are the general things associated with romantic attraction. So if you want to get across to people that you can feel these things for multiple genders then it seems like a good fit.

How do you feel? Romantic orientation is tricky. Only because it is often confused with sexuality. If this label feels right then own it.

I have two things: Straight people rarely question their sexuality. This isn't to say that because you're questioning you have to be part of the community. You're valid no matter where you come out. For me, I think about who I picture the rest of my life with. If I went on a date, can I comfortably picture myself with both genders? (Disclaimer that this obviously won't work for anyone, and that sexuality and labels can be messy and not make sense and at the end of the day labels are there to serve you, not the other way around).

I am personally bisexual heteroromantic (except for one exception when I was younger). Put simply, without intercourse and anything strictly sexual, can you see yourself in a loving relationship with men and women? It may take some experience with one or both to know. Like when you have a crush on either, is it purely a physical attraction or do you imagine things like going on dates/non-sexual physical affection/deeper than besties with them? That’s where I’d start. :) I agree with jan_Elute on this as well, it’s not entirely clear cut. But you don’t need to put labels on yourself when you’re figuring it out or even ever! It can change over time as well!

Honestly, my advice here is that people who are fully straight don’t wonder if they’re gay. If you think you could be comfortable in a relationship with someone of either gender, you are bi. You don’t need to worry about explaining yourself, just know that its true for you x
