What are some ideas that you do to help cope with your anxiety when it’s the highest? I have medicine for it but I have never taken it because of a bad experience from a previous anxiety med. i just rather do it the natural way. Sometimes these meds make it worse.

My therapist asked me what was the most relaxing thing I could think of, and then said that's what I should do when anxiety is totally out of control.
When it's not that bad, I do an exercise where I think through the worst thing that could realistically happen (not the worst thing I could imagine). The other day, anxiety was preventing me from making some important phone calls. When I made myself remember that the worst thing that could happen was that I would have to leave a message, I was able to make the calls and it wasn't too bad.
