@Cvprisun honestly choosing is easy but both choices are pretty difficult anyway lol. you either go on disability and go to behavioral therapy. or you work the retail job. either way your kinda confronting your anxiety. honestly i’m high as fuck idk if i’m making sense, but yeah.

My mom does Uber Eats and Doordash and I notice that she doesn't really talk to much people compared to other jobs

I am permanently disabled and on disability for my mental health issues. Some of us cannot work due to mental health. I am healthier because that stressor is out of my life, even though I have worked hard to get better.
@AranaJ my mom was going to do disability for me, but my family said i can’t do it and that i’m lazy if i do it, i need to get into the real world🙄
i don’t think it’s a good idea to find a job that reinforces your anxiety if you know what i mean. you might really want to get on disability and do DBT. disability is there for you to take some time(disability is at least a year) and tackle those issues so you aren’t dealing with them when your 30. look into DBT it’s pretty fascinating imo. getting better is absolutely possible we just need to problem solve a bit and stay hopeful. it’s really hard but is something you can accomplish.
@figglebottom i can’t get on disability due to my family calling me lazy, and stuff like that. my parents are forcing me to work back at kohls in july when i quit the first time on the training day cause of how rude they were to me cause i couldn’t be social. i don’t know what to do. i cannot work in a retail environment:(
I work in a warehouse as a picker and I pretty much work on my own and only had to get the training then I worked on my own and it helps that I can walk around and be on my own while I work

@Sarahcg i honestly think i’d love to work in a warehouse or like unloading trucks or something because i just can’t do retail again that was so bad i didn’t know how to react to angry people 😂 i’d just prefer to work alone or be by myself!
Hey!!! Okay so definitely so many factors have gone into which jobs have been me more or less socially terrified- but a big help is having jobs that keep me busy and stimulating so the interactions I feel way less conversational pressure. I’ve gone from retail to a small gardening company to a small doggy daycare and let me tell you… The mental stimulation I got from the hands on work in both retail (florist/framer) and as a gardener are soooo deeply missed. As amazing as the pups are- the quick client interactions for pick ups/drops and the field time standing there with my four other staff members….. it’s been incredibly challenging for my social anxiety.

@BunkBean that sounds great, I'm sure you'll find what suits you sooner or later, just keep trying
I do security because I'm able to work the whole shift alone and I find that much easier than having to work with other people
