I’ve made my partner cry three different times today over three different things and it just makes me feel like I’m horrible for them.

I'm not sure if you're experiencing the same thing, but when I do that, it's usually because I'm struggling to regulate my emotions. They're my legitimate feelings, but they're... too big? Too extreme? And I feel like I can't control them. Making your partner cry is probably not okay/healthy behavior, and it's understandable that you feel guilty about it. But you also have to be patient with yourself. You may not know how to handle yourself in that situation, and it's gonna take some trial and error to figure out what works. I've found being 100% upfront, and as honest with *myself* as possible is helpful. I'll go to him and say stuff like "I'm really, really upset right now, and I don't think it's actually all your fault, but I'm mad about [thing you did] and it's getting all mixed up."

Usually people do this when they are mad at themselves or can’t accept themselves. Therapy may help.

It's important to communicate with your partner and discuss the reasons behind their tears. Apologize if necessary, and work together to find ways to improve your relationship and avoid causing emotional distress in the future. Remember, open communication and understanding are key to a healthy relationship.
