I’m starting to think I know what’s causing all this back pain and spinal issues. I used to vape. A little over a year ago, I got an MRI for an unrelated issue, and they said there was minor lung damage. So I quit for several months. Then one day I picked up the habit again. Since then I’ve quit and restarted a few different times. Yesterday I quit again. I’ve got a month before I get a new MRI. But here’s my hypothesis. I’m thinking my upper back pain/curvature may be caused by deflated lungs from the vaping. Does anyone know if this is a thing, and if so, how long do you have to quit before it returns to normal? Is there treatment for it? Lately my mom has been asking to go to all my medical appointments. She went to the last one, where the doctor scheduled my MRI. Now I’m sure she’s going to want to go to the next one. I’m kind of dreading it because she’s just going to harp on about how bad vaping is. I wish I could just go on my own so that I’d feel more comfortable being more open with the doctor. When my mom is there, I feel like I have to hide things to prevent her from worrying about me and scolding me. Anyway, pray for me, my lungs, and my back if you can. And that I’ll get over this seemingly irreplaceable addiction.
