@lindseeeey it is! He also said that most psychiatrist don't understand this (which I've experienced when my own gaslit me with my experiences), and will just write this stuff off as craziness and prescribe you drugs for it, seeing it as a disorder. But the drugs just hinder your senses and prevent you from being able to be in tune to what's happening. Which in a way makes sense because I heard and saw a lot more when I wasn't taking the medication. The only reason I believe the medication didn't help fully at my exes house is because well that was beside a funeral home and things were just too much for the medicine to shield. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It's very interesting to think about and explore.

This used to happen to me all the time as a teenager and young adult. The sounds and the shadowy figures. Sometimes it still does but very rarely with the sounds. I still see shadowy figures though. Now I'm not one to preach spiritual crap but my dad always told me people like us are more susceptible to those kinds of things, because the spirit world preys on us. Whether you believe it or not is up to you. Nobody else does, not even my own Christian mother who has also seen and heard the same shadowy figures. She still tells me I'm just making up stuff. It's tapered down over the last 10 years because of the medication they put me on to help me sleep which is also a mood stabilizer. But sometimes... I still see them. Sometimes I still hear them. When I lived with my ex partner, the medicine didn't even prevent it, I saw and heard it every single night and sometimes day. But that's another story for only who wants to listen. However most don't and writes me off as crazy.

@italianxpeaches that’s interesting!! kind of makes sense because i always am so intune with “the universe”. it can sound crazy sometimes. i have convos with my therapist all the time about it.

I have a sub-bi polar disorder called schizo-active bi polar disorder. What happens is when I get upset and go into an episode I begin to have hallucinations of both kinds. With bpd and bi polar sometimes I can be normal to see or hear things, due to how bad it is. I advise you see a good psychologist in your area if you can afford it/have insurance.

I do! I hear full-blown songs that don't actually exist play with all different types of instruments, usually when there's some time of background noise. I see shadow figures in my peripheral a lot, it's been really bad lately. Last night I whipped my head to my nightstand because I full on saw something fall off of it in my peripheral while I was playing my switch. Nothing had fallen, but I felt more uneasy than I usually do when I hallucinate. I've seen figures in doorways so I keep doors closed, and I usually like to keep a nightlight on when it's too dark.

@Kiwis the past couple days I also heard a strange dripping sound that couldn't be explained as anything but a hallucination, as well as a weird crinkling sound. I also experience near-constant internal auditory hallucinations, which i didn't know counted for the longest time.

I see shadow figures too and I have BPD. It's gotten worse since I went off my medication. I don't really deal with auditory hallucinations - sometimes it'll just be ringing in my ears. Or I'll hear voices like they're coming from my thoughts. Not too often though.
