I have been diagnosed with SIBO (twice - once in 2017 and once again this year). I’m working with DietvsDisease to address it but so far the antimicrobials did not seem to work - waiting to try the reintroduction phase of the Low FODMAP diet to see exactly what triggers it. That said, I started (again) using Acacia fiber, miralax and dulcalax stool softener - after stopping it to so the antimicrobials and low FODMAP diet- and it seems to be helping a lot. Wish I could use more “natural” treatments but Miralax is the only thing I can rely on…

I use VSL #3 packets and celery juice to keep me regular. Works like a charm most of the time. Miralax helps too, but for a while I was on Linzess because the Miralax wasn’t enough. If you workout, a hard run on the treadmill helps me too.

Talk to your doctor about linzess I had similar issues until 2020 when my Dr prescribed it. Then my body decided last summer to do the opposite of what the medication is for

@revqueenbee i tried Linzess too and it landed me in the emergency room! That was a year ago - I wish it had worked …

If you're anything like me you forget miralax or anything that would daily help so I'm not good on healthy advice but I've noticed when I lay on my stomach with my butt up in the air for awhile it can stimulate the ability to go. No idea if it's just me. Also a squatty potty works miracles for me (I didn't buy one, I just made my own). Basically when we're in a squatting position it's an easier and more natural way to poop for our bodies. Good luck ❤️
I find miralax the most helpful! But it takes a few days to work!
I’ve been trying to figure this out for over a decade. What typically works for me is: Floradix liquid magnesium once a day, eliminating all animal dairy from my diet, pelvic floor exercises (to help with motility), and chewing my food at least 40x before swallowing. The problem? Whenever I travel (especially air travel) or eat something new, it tends to put me right back at square one. I’ll also add - for a while I was taking VSL probiotics - they are a medical food. One gastro told me they would help, and then my current gastro said they were probably making the problem worse 🙄. So, I hope you get a lot of opinions on here because there are definitely competing ideas.
