Am I the only person with ptsd that feels nothing and has no flashbacks or nightmares? Other than depression, I have no emotions. It’s impossible for me to be present, everything is unreal. This is torture, I don’t enjoy anything and they have tried every medication invented. Nothing helps.

I was there. Ur mind is trying to protect you. Take it slow and keep taking care of yourself. Don't stop getting help even wen u think ur fine.

Because I have dealt with PTSD most of my life and I am closing in on 60 years old, I can tell you that all of us suffering with it, is not the same for any two people. There is a time when we all have to face the panic attacks and depression at some point. My symptoms didn't start until the birth of my "rape child". I don't know any other way to say that. I was told that we all come to a place when we have to deal with the trauma. God only knows when it will start for you. Don't be in a hurry, because healing takes a long time! When those feelings do come, make sure you have a counselor ready. Remember, you are not alone when it does happen!

You are not alone with feeling like this. I was unable to process or emotional awaken my trauma for months. I started going to a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, just to simply talk to. She has been able to open up my trauma so I can emotional heal from it. Although it’s so much more difficult to deal with the emotions, im able to finally start releasing my trauma. It takes time and patients. don’t be hard on yourself for feeling this way, it’s how our minds keep us safe from re-feeling the emotions from our trauma. I wish you the absolutely best with your healing journey💕

@Maya_halle thank you for your response. I’m going to look into a cognitive behavior therapist. I’ve never heard of this. I’ve had emdr and it only made me less present. I’ve tried dbt twice, but couldn’t focus on it. It’s been over 12 years, but there is still hope. Thank you for giving me hope
