suggestions for anxiety? My doctor has me on clonidine. At first it did amazing. But now I'm pissed because I was told how non addictive this is. haha!!!! I can take xanax 3 days in a row and then go the rest of the week without it.But with clonidine, if I take it 3 days in a row my heart tries desperately to get back tomorrow once it's out of my system and then I'm in the hospital with 190 beats per minute. I get that xanax is addictive but I only take when needed vs. clonidine I have to take just to not have my heart beat out of my chest now. I'm getting pissed. Not only is it not working well but now my body is too adjusted. smh Suggestions (no thc please)

@MsManders I'm so sorry to hear that. I moved states and it has completely messed up my insurance.

@belle89 unfortunately I live in an extremely small town and am on.sunoxone as well. No doctor here is allowed to prescribe suboxone so I have to do telemed health. And I had to search for.weeks to find a telemed health that accepted my insurance

So you only have the clonidine routinely and Xanax as needed?? Clonidine is good for lowering BP and HR to foster sleep, but it doesn't necessarily help someone cope with anxiety and depression. Xanax is great as needed, but it's not recommended for long term use as it can change some neuro chemistry in the patient. I'd ask to get started on an SSRI or SNRI, have the clonidine only as needed for insomnia, and continue the Xanax as needed only. SSRIs and SNRIs are excellent for improving depression and anxiety besides mental therapy!! Hope this helps! ❤️❤️

@CozyVibez clonidine stopped making me sleepy awhile ago. And I'm prescribed it twice a day. Though up until 2 days ago I was only.taking it once again. My point was that I was stopped on my xanax because of addiction fears despite that I took it appropriately and only on an as needed basis. If I had a bad 3 days in a row and took my xanax, I had no side affects coming off it the next day whereas if I take clonidine 3.daya in a row but not the 4th my heart races out of control and I end up in the hospital. So they were so worried about becoming dependent on xanax only to.switch me to something my body became dependent on after a bad 3.days.

@CozyVibez they stopped my xanax and put me on clonidine is what I was saying.
