    @seeking...I love to color and do puzzles on apps on my phone. But that then keeps me awake and then I can not sleep.

    if i’m having a harmful panic attack when everyone’s asleep i put in headphones and play load upbeat music to distract myself while i’m laying in bed. eventually i’ll get really tired and annoyed that the music is keeping me awake and i’ll take out the headphones and fall asleep

    One of the most helpful things I’ve ever owned was a lava lamp shaped fake fish bowl. It glowed blue and blew bubbles, creating the perfect night time ambiance through it’s soft blue light that danced on my ceiling and its not-too-drone-y white noise

    I would say put ice in a bag on your chest or a weighted blanket. Shocks at first but resets your parasympathetic nervous system.

    I usually put my AirPods in and play my favorite songs on low or if you sleep with a tv on, then I would play a show I would like or a movie.

    And its usually worse at night. I use meditation. Pressing your hand into your heart engages the vagus nerve which will calm you down.

    Figure out what you are anxious about, then go from there. I used to always fear my abuser would break in my house and couldn’t sleep because of it. I completes actions that allowed me to feel safe.
