Take time for yourself to unwind. If it is a bath, an activity you like, or even a favorite show to binge watch you need to do something for you to get you out of your head. Having a person you can confirm in about what you ate feeling and why is also not only helpful, bit can be key to your mental health
Something I’ve found that helps me is a lot of the self help books have little guided journals you can buy and it helps me put my thoughts down without having to put a ton of effort into it.
Reward yourself when you do something you don’t want to. For a while I would get a slurpee from a gas station on fridays after I completed my week of school. Can be much smaller than that but essentially you have to Pavlov yourself. Even in my lowest moments this helped me get to the end of every day and wake up the next morning
So sorry your feeling low 😥 it helps me alot to talk about what I'm feeling. Also having a routine I do daily helps me,really keeps me grounded.i get my breakfast and cup of coffee and sit in my rocking chair and read the news and then I find I can start my day! 💕 hang in there!
Try not to feel pressured to do “big” self-care. Self-care can be as simple as taking 5 extra minutes in the shower. The big stuff is great too, but aiming for smaller ways to take care of yourself will add up really quickly!
I reward myself with an iced coffee when I am feeling really horrid. Something that doesn’t cost anything, though, is going outside and standing on grass barefoot. I dig my toes into the grass and just stand in silence with my eyes closed, taking deep breaths. Helps me feel more grounded and centered.
When the world feels too big and I feel too small, I personally like to self-isolate and have a "lazy day". I order take-out, take a hot shower, snuggle up in bed or on the couch, and have a movie marathon. Often i will take a lil nap and browse passive sites like Pinterest. I also like to use art as a tool for self-expression and emotional venting if I'm feeling a little more restless in my depression/stress. This can be as complex as making a big piece or writing a poem or as simple as just journaling/stream-of-consciousness writing. The point is not to make something good or even cool, it's just to get those emotions out of me so that they can be better acknowledged, expressed, and processed. It takes some of the weight off of the shoulders, I find. Like at-home art therapy.
