Find a good physical therapist who knows EDS and ways to stabilize

I'm a big fan of low impact reformer pilates. Most of the exercises can be modified and it's the only way I have been able to maintain strength. There is a ton of focus on form and improving your core strength. I do pilates twice a week and PT (no exercises, just treatments like cupping/dry needling/massage) weekly. As I get stronger, my flare ups start to become more prominent on weaker joints/areas so to maintain consistent exercise, I have to have a great PT.

Aquatic therapy has been so helpful for me along with a mindfulness approach to pain management.

The pool/water is great for low impact exercise. As long as it’s a good temperature, too hot or too cold can make things worse.

Yes stabilization exercises all the way!!! No gabapentin (not for everyone) and consistent movement, no more than 2 days off in a row or you can lose that muscle mass

I have found using a seated recumbent bike helps. As does anything in a pool. Non weight bearing exercises like those for elderly people. ❤️

I’ve been prescribed pain meds and muscle relaxer
