Hello all, how are your experiences with Prozac? I switched from Sertraline due to excessive sweating. Thanks.

I took Prozac for 7 years and for those 7 years it worked great. But then it slowly stopped working for me and I switched to Paxil. Paxil has worked better for me, I'm in my 8th year on it and it's still works great for my anxiety. Tldr; it worked awesome until it didn't lol.

I would say most people can usually tell if an antidepressant is one worth continuing or not within the first month. For me, I started having auditory hallucinations and didn’t notice any improvement in my illnesses so I stopped that as soon as possible. I’m on an antidepressant now where anyone I know who took it felt like crap but for me I feel totally fine and better than ever so it is so individual. I would just see how you’re feeling and if you ever feel worse to let your doctor know right away.
Everyone is different, but for me (taking Prozac right now) it helps some. If Prozac doesn't work for you switch to something else. I used to be on sertraline and it didn't work for me at all. Best luck!
I tried Prozac for a little less than a year when I was younger. It did not work for me as I developed chronic nightmares as a side effect. I have other friends who are on Prozac and say it works great for them. Medications can be funky as they’ll work great for some people and not so great for others. Best of luck trying a new medication!
It made my depression worse. I took it when I was 17 and I was addicted to self harm, specifically cutting. And on Prozac I was cutting more. I couldn’t cry. It was terrible… I highly do not recommend Prozac.
To start, Prozac made me suicidal within a week of taking it. Prozac like many others are automatic go to drugs that are the first ones to be used. It either works great or horrible. Are you seeing a psychiatrist? I would not trust a GP to prescribe anxiety and depression type drugs. There are many symptoms that they could be writing off as normal but are actually signs you need a new type of medication. I also experienced excessive sweating on some medications and my current one causes night sweats but the benefits outweigh the cost for me (not saying the same for you as everyone’s situation is different).
