This is a personal funny story proving sometime we get a bit sensitivebecause we are to close to the issue. ssssso my husband is a ridiculously smart guy and he remembers most of what information he intakes. With that bring said, he says to me; the one who is bed bound because I had a minor accident now I need to see a neurosurgeon; EDS is not a real disease because a syndrome is not proven. And because of this lots of people who say they have it are lying. That's why docs treat us like crap. .....WHAT?! Well I in short order lost my mind. I am in major amounts of pain so there for, insane.... I defended us with insults, yelling, and finally uncle google. And that jerk took his side! Damn lesson learned....no proving a point that you are not sure of. Research it then and only then go to war.

A disease usually has a defining cause, distinguishing symptoms and treatments. A syndrome, on the other hand, is a group of symptoms that might not always have a definite cause.(source Utah school of medicine from the artical "What exactly is a syndrome?"). So basically there is an x factor in a syndrome. So they are still trying to find the cause. But in a disease they know the catalyst.

I guess that all these medical books are lying as well because EDS exists in each one of them. The fact the a disease can’t be found in blood tests, X-ray, etc, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
