Hi. I am Maria. I am new here. I believe that no one else can really quite understand what something feels like better than a person who has also gone through it, so that's why I am hoping to meet some people with the same illnesses as me. i have had severe depression all my life but just recently it has gotten the worst its ever been. I feel so afraid some times that i think " what if i never feel happiness again ? " I hope I can get better.

No, you have to find ways to make it better. Find a hobby or friends you have things in common with even if it online. I have depression, diabetes and a few other things. But I have kids and grandkids to keep me going. Find something to motivate you.

I agree 100%. I feel like I am just existing, not living. I have no interest in seeing people or doing anything around the house (although I get up and go to work, but this is getting more difficult) and now that I have diabetes in addition to depression, it’s even worse because the meds for diabetes makes me feel like crap all the time. I have spent entire weekends in bed. Is this going to be my life forever?

It is difficult, if not impossible, for anyone to understand depression unless they have it....and that makes it a very lonely world. I'm so sorry you and everyone else who suffers from this horrible mental health illness. Grateful to be a part of a group that "gets it".

I definitely relate to this, so so sorry you're going through it. I try to remember that emotional permanence is so hard. I never remember what happiness feels like when I'm sad and vice versa. You'll definitely be happy again it's just hard to see it when you're still depressed
