Does anyone have a lot of trouble with jobs and calling in too much? I have attendance issues so bad at every single job because of my mental issues. Any job I don’t enjoy or want to be at makes my mental health so much worse too which also causes me to call in all the time or take long breaks in the bathroom. Idk what to do anymore.

currently on one of my long bathroom breaks for a consistent panic attack. both of my jobs I've had this issue, my first job I never informed my manager of any type of issues. but this job I informed my manager I get really bad panic attacks when we get busy, lots of orders, loud noises can send me into a ptsd episode or panic attack. and they completely understood and even gave me a safe space to use if I ever need to step away. if you're comfortable I would let them know and they are required to make accommodations (in my state anyway) that way they are also aware of what is going on so they don't think you're flakie or don't care about the job.

I love my job and go through periods where I just don't want to go to work so I call in and get suspended, then I'm ok for a few wks and the cycle repeats. It sucks. I try to be better, but mentally there are times I just can't do it

Is it a problem at your workplace? Calling out sick because of my depression has always been an issue but my current job and my job before were not too hard on me about it as long as I still got my work done

@hay12 in my state, jobs are only required to make accommodations if a doctor says they're necessary, so it probably depends on where you're from!

The job that worked for me was a cabin cleaner at the airport.

I used to have that problem. I was in a fortunate enough position to alter my course and do what I dreamed of: working with animals. If you can find your passion, go for it. If you don't know what that is yet, that's okay too. Have fun on the journey

I can't even find a job because of my social anxiety
