Binge eating disorder

Felt! It feels like I'm finally starting to get my life and health back from it, then at the worst times my anxiety, cravings, etc hits and I feel the need to give in and eat what I'm craving. Especially since I have something called grellin(?) That's messed up so my brain doesn't receive signals saying "Hey, bud, you're full! Stop eating!" But I've found a couple ways to cope that might help you as well!!! I started drinking lots of herbal tea, especially in-between meals. It helps to get a cup before I eat and after, and if helps me to eat less and keeps me from snacking! Oh and if the cravings are just absolutely hitting and tea won't suffice - kick it up a notch with gum and mints!! Mints especially for me, because it really does feel like eating a good sized meal because it takes awhile to melt in my mouth and until then I can feel it in my mouth and even (gently) bite down a bit. It just makes me feel satisfied in the end and helps. But gum too, if what you need the most is the feeling of chewing especially. And if it's hunger you're feeling, try drinking some water first or get some tea - because at least in my case I'm usually just thirsty and drinking a glass of water will tell me if my body actually needs food, or if I'm just misinterpreting my signals. Oh and keep busy! The hyper fixations were the worst part of the Ed for me for years, I'd think about food all day constantly. My day revolved around my meals, and thus so did my conversation topics. Once I realized I had an Ed, I started working on changing the mindset and that helped with everything else TREMENDOUSLY. So keep busy for sure, video games, go on a walk, walk to friend's, clean the house, read a book, movie, heck fidget toys even help like spinners and pop it's!! Well I really hope this helps! My dms are always open as well if anyone wants to talk. Having this at my age feels really isolating and lonely a lot of the time ^^`
