What is a medication that works well as a migraine preventative? I control my migraines with a narcotic pain reliever but would love to add a preventative measure to my efforts.

I take Aimovig every 28 days it's an injection and I also take effexor every morning. I also get botox injections every 3 months. Hasn't really slowed the migraines down or help them in any way but it might help you. I wish you the best of luck.

I take Topamax twice daily. It's the only thing that has really helped me with preventing them. If I do manage to get one, they are much more tolerable and less severe than before. It has been a life saver for me personally.
