Yes + undiagnosed ASD wants things to be organised but I see all the steps to getting it done and then i just get overwhelmed and I can't do anything apart from avoidance + throw some undiagnosed inattentive ADHD in there as well and my brain is a total mess! (It costs $3k for a combined diagnosis.. so just going on what my psychologist has said. Which I also agree with, makes so much sense).

Ugh yes I agree!! I get it done and then leave it for a whole month until I get the sudden urge to clean it again

Absolutely! It’s hard to recognize when I’m in the midst of a depressive episode, but if I can, I make an effort to put away things I use (when I can) along with one extra thing. For those really long periods it really makes a difference!
i do. the worst part is it triggers my anxiety and tics. it just seems impossible to keep it clean and it gets to a certain point where it’s too overwhelming to start cleaning it.
This has made me feel not so alone in my pile of laundry that I’m sitting in

Omg! When I get depressed or my anxiety hits I clean and can’t stop! I think it’s a coping thing?
Yes, I struggle with this as well...
yes my room is always a mess I struggle with small tasks like putting my laundry away or taking out my garbage. part of my disorganized chaos is part of my ADHD too but at the same time the mess can make me feel stressed and anxious but I have no motivation
yeah. what i’ve done is grid my floor with duct tape so i’ve got these biggish squares so when it gets bad and i don’t have energy to clean a lot i’ll just clear out one of the squares
Yes! I have to just chip away at it as I can, and put my well-being first. It can be really hard ❤️
I’ve found that making a to do list helps me. Even if I can only check off one thing that I completed, it gives me a sense of accomplishment and makes me feel a little bit better.
Oh for sure. I have a pile of dirty laundry sitting next to my full hamper because I'm too tired to do it when I'm in pain and too lazy to do it when I feel well
See I just moved in with someone and I feel so bad because I’ve tried so many time to just do it but it’s impossible. Also they try to help but the. My anxiety creeps in and my problem with letting things do and I just give up
I have so many piles 🙈

Most definitely! I used to be buried in laundry that I didn't know (or care) if it was clean. Water bottles, soda bottles/cans, and the occasional sonic cup would gather all kinds of icky things. It really didn't improve until I had to share a space with my partners. Now I keep our room more clean so that they don't have to deal with it and that's really my only motivation.
No problem! I get overwhelmed so easily but the mess that I just focus on one area, or just try to organize one thing at a time. Slowly it will get clean! Best of luck
Thank you I think I just need to dive in head first
Here✋🏼. I get in slumps especially when my AS is really bad and it seems like I can’t ever get anything caught up. But even if it’s just one thing done consider it an accomplishment.
