hi! I'm wondering if there are any good foods you guys have eaten in recovery of an eating disorder? I'm struggling to find something I am not turned off by
That's hard to answer without knowing what your specific mental block with food stems from. I have become so picky with foods, I love stopped liking certain textures, smells, looks, colors even.
i really dislike meat texture, bagels with cream cheese, biscuits, and now salads with things like blue cheese on them... I used to love salads. I do eat like a pound of spaghetti sometimes though with sauce and parmesan and that is like my favorite meal ever at the moment!
thinking through all of this is fairly new for me so I don't want to steer you wrong. My thought is to focus on the foods you can eat without serious discomfort and slowly add to the list. At the same time, it may be worth spending some time exploring the why behind the things you dislike now and where that's coming from. My therapist has been amazing at helping me drill down and see the connections with certain foods and the way I respond to them. It has been so eye opening!
Bagels for me were a forbidden food and now I have a bagel with peanut butter everyday to make myself see that they are just a nourishing food and not evil because they are somewhat calorie dense
