Hello. I pray everyone on here is well. I saw in my chart that .y blood work states I may have cancer. I'm not willing to go through chemo although my doctor never spoke to me about it. my RDW is high (17.6). Has any one experienced this?

A high RDW (Red-Cell Distribution Width) can be indicative of various conditions, including leukemia, but it's essential not to jump to conclusions without further evaluation and discussion with your healthcare provider. If you haven't already, I strongly encourage you to schedule a follow-up appointment with your doctor to discuss your blood work results in detail and to address any questions or concerns you may have...
I understand... considering treatment options like chemotherapy, especially without a clear diagnosis or discussion with your doctor, ugh!

For blood cancer you may need a bone marrow biopsy. Merely blood counts are not always enough
