This is just a reminder that you are not your intrusive thoughts. If you suddenly think things that disgust and upset you, remember that is your OCD. Don’t dwell on it and don’t run from it. Acknowledge, say no thank you, and move on. When mine are very bothersome I also find it helpful to remind myself that having a thought - even a terrible one - doesn’t hurt anyone else. And that I know myself well enough to know that thought is not what I want and not what I will do.
