I hate myself so much, Im super overweight (like 50 pounds), and I'm not even that old. Today I cut myself for the first time, it really helped, but now I want to do it more. I also want to starve myself. Any ideas on how to get these thoughts away? And how deep do people usually cut themselves?

Please do not starve yourself I starved myself for 5 years and almost died because of it and now I have health issues that are not listed but I have and please please don't cut yourself you deserve amazing things in life and maybe one thing that I recommend it that think about the people that you love and how bad your family would miss you if you died from starvation

I understand the feeling of hating yourself. I hated myself for a long, long time. The good news is, you don't have to stay there. One thing I learned from my therapist was to practice self-care. I had hurt my ankle recently, and he said, "Love your ankle. Care for it. Do things that are good for it." It sounds weird, but caring for my ankle (in a conscious, loving way) actually helped me to like myself more. Ask yourself this question: "If I loved myself, what would I do right now?" And then try to do that thing, whatever it is. The love will come. It will follow your actions. You might have to start with baby steps, but that is totally ok.
I'm here for you anytime you need to vent in place of self harm ❤️
first off, your weight does not determine your health. throw away your scale, or at the very least don’t look at it for at least 6 more months. i recommend exercise- it keeps you healthy and is also really helpful for depression. don’t skip meals (not even breakfast.) as for cutting yourself, there are way less harmful alternatives! if you’re looking for a release by inflicting pain i recommend pressing an ice cube into your palm or snapping a rubber band on your skin. less damage but you still get release. it’s only fillers until you can learn other ways to cope than self harm.
I’m SO happy you came here to ask about these thoughts. Many people don’t seek out someone to talk about this with. Try to force yourself to do a hobby or watch a show every time the thought happens. And I mean every time. Like doodling every time the compulsion arises
Maybe try to distract your self from any thoughts maybe try watching a funny movie or smth like that, reorganizing things may help. And try not to wonder how deep people cut themselves the more you wonder the more you are going to wanna to it. I get it it's addictive, when I'm having thoughts like this I talk to a TRUSTWORTHY friend. Have you tried talking to someone about it? And if you have/try to find someone to talk about it with just make sure tob can trust them. (Im sorry if non of this helps)
@Natt I've talked to my online friend, but they aren't online all the time. One of my friends will say "emo bracelets" or some shit, one would tell the teachers, so I don't have any great resources. I'll be sure to watch a show or something though.
@Blainethedinosaur oh I'm so sorry. I hope watching or doing something else helps you!
