I've been thinking about possibly looking into a mobility aid. Getting around for over an hour causes pain. But im not sure if I should, any advice?

@GlitchSky it's not their problem. if you are in pain you should be able to get one. If they judge you then they're ableist and rude

I have a friend who has a mastiff for a service dog who she has trained to lean against her to help her get around. That's because she has a bad leg though. Having a dog's assistance can be better than a cane depending on your needs. It can also be subtle, for example that the dog just likes or prefers being at your side. Great danes are great natural leaners, too. You can teach subtle commands to them as well. The dog could also be trained to tell you (subtly) about changes in your heartrate and blood pressure for example. I'm sorry that getting around has been painful for you! Hopefully you can find something so people in your life won't cause you any more stress than you already have.

@Autemi Sadly where I live a dog would be to big for the room I have. That plus I wouldn't be able to afford one.

Is there a reason to not to? I thought I did but once I started using mine life was so much easier.

@NonbinarySlytherin Not necessarily, just judgement from family which could cause meltdowns.

It might be helpfull having a walking stick or wheelchair if walking/ moving around is causing a lot of pain for you

@fedex I'm worried about what people in my life would have to say about it without having evidence that I need it from a doctor.
