Does anyone else have chronic insomnia as a result of their EDS? Give your tips and tricks because I have been awake for 76 hours and both of my knees have come out four times. Thinking about going to the er. Lmk.

Hi! I know I’m a little late here but I think I can help out for future sleep issues- I was having TERRIBLE problems with sleep for a while years back and I learned that in people with our condition throughout the day your muscles can get extremely tight and tense from having to support your body without the help of properly functioning tendons and such. Even if you relax before bed the tension can still be there. That was my problem and the answer was a low dose muscle relaxant before I go to bed. Literally changed my life. if you’re interested lmk if you have any questions ab how to talk to a doctor about it!!

please go to the ER if you go 48 straight hours without sleeping, just as a general rule. sleep is extremely important and you will absolutely suffer brain damage after like 18 hours I think? the damage is usually reversible, but it gets less reversible the longer you go without sleeping. trust me, I used to be awake for 72-96 hours at a time and now I'm stupid LMAO

Yeah the ER probably sounds like a good idea. I've been thinking about going in myself, not for insomnia but because I think I'm severely dehydrated. My fingers have stopped producing their own oil and I've had bandaids on both pointers for about a week now 🥲

I don’t have that much insomnia, I will go like 36 hrs at a time, but no more. The ER sounds like a solid plan if you don’t have any other ideas.
