I want to bring up to my physician that I may be Autistic, but I whenever they ask why I think that I blank and can't think of any valid reason? So instead it makes me feel like I just lied to them even though I really do think I have it?

@BreBee04 most doctors diagnosing autism require observatory reports from a family member and/or someone else who knows you well

omg i totally relate. even when i was being evaluated i had to explain that it’s hard for me to process and explain my experiences and i do better when given prompts. i think you could take time to go over what symptoms affect you related to autism, and go over it w your doctor

You could bring someone with you who has noticed some of your autistic tendencies. That would also help convince a doctor it's not something like anxiety or ADHD

Something that might help would be writing down your symptoms and reasons you feel you might be autistic before your appointment, so when you bring it up and they ask why, you can read them the list. I’ve had to do that with my disorders as well, because I have a horrible memory. Helps me a lot 🤍
