I'm a hairstylist and I'm unhappy at work. I'm a college dropout and unqualified to do anything else. I just feel like a failure. I always thought Id make something of myself but I'm just stuck instead. On top of that my mental illness makes it really hard to work. I just feel like a loser to be honest.

If you’d like to switch professions that’s always an option! I stay in touch with my friends from beauty school and not all of us do hair now including me. Also, you don’t need college for every profession there are trainings and certifications available ex: becoming a certified nursing assistant, EMT, office jobs, honestly anything in tech or marketing! Being a hairstylist can be draining even though it’s important work! Other cosmetology fields include brows, lash extensions, facials, waxing possibilities are endless! You could work at a different salon also to switch it up! Or chair rental etc. I definitely think you are being hard on yourself too bc I do the same exact thing lol, pls remind yourself that you are amazing!! ❤️

thank you. It's really nice to know I'm not alone and you're right, I'm probably just over thinking and putting unnecessary pressure on myself.

Hi, I can definitely relate to your post. I too am a college dropout who is only qualified to work in cosmetology. I was a hairstylist for 7 years and hated it. I would just say this, you are on your own timing. There's no rush. Things will align eventually. Just keep healing ❤️ and have faith 😊
