Hey everyone. Just wanna know I'm not alone -- any other guys out here with SA history? I know males are less likely to report or even consider it as such and all that... I'm the only guy I know that's been abused.

@kris_1513 I'm very sleepy, sorry for the short response -- but, you are an angel. I needed that... 💕 I feel heard and understood for once

I do have a large and complicated history of sexual assault trauma. It's one of those things that people make you feel "dirty" and dehumanized about. I've lost so many friends and close bonds/relationships in my life because of things like this that I had no control over. The fact that it's never taken as seriously as it should be by authority and the public causes it to induce an overwhelmingly isolating feeling. Being a female, it's already difficult to be heard and respected. Though for you, as a male, I can imagine that the feeling of isolation can be very real given that male sexual trauma tends to be less common and even more stigmatized than the already-stigmatized concept of sexual abuse. I'm still very much alone in it and suffering from it on a daily basis, but I do have one person to confide in from time-to-time. They don't understand so much, but they're putting huge amounts of effort into learning more and listening which is heartwarming. Know that you're not alone, even though it feels that way much of the time, and that you being a male and having experienced that makes you no less of a human than you were before. You're just as pure and are not "dirty" or "tainted" like others may want you to believe. I'm only now on the verge of coming to terms with that, though it still revisits.

@itsnotlupus I completely get it. I just decided to muster up my last bit of energy before trying to go back to sleep from the insomnia lol. Thanks for listening, as well. Sending much love your way and faithful thoughts that things will get better for you. I'm glad you feel a bit understood. I feel that way too given that you actually heard me. Take care of yourself and sleep well 💕.
