hi! I don't have an official diagnosis for my torretes, but I've had many family and friends say they'd be surprised of it wasn't. tics started last year in July, when I was 22. is this normal? I don't wanna have people think I'm faking or something. I'm worried when I try to get diagnosed I'll get labeled a faker for having developed later in life. or an attention seeker bc of my many other disorders. ahhh

Many conditions can actually cause tics! It could be a number of things, not only TS. I would look into your other disorders and see what could be causing them. It could help you better understand your tics and how to prevent or ease them.

it's possible you've had tics for longer than you realize. I started having noticeable tics at 17, but I've had super mild and infrequent tics for much longer and just didn't recognize that anything abnormal was going on bc of how subtle it was. It's also possible you just started showing symptoms later in life, it does happen and it is normal. I worry about being labeled as a faker for my later onset as well, I'm sorry that's something that you have to go through
